Namun market was the first big public market that I went to in Korea. Namun is in Suwon, my friend’s town. The market is right near Paldalmun, which is the South gate of Hwaseong Fortress. The name means “open roads in every direction”.

When I went to Namun with M last autumn, it was after a full day of exploring Hwaseong fortress and we were on the hunt for some cheap apples. I ended up buying a watch, which I wear everyday at work and we also did eventually find the apples. And a whole lot more.
